The Power of Words
A few months ago I became acquainted with the blog search engine technorati.com, and learned that it searched 14.2 million weblogs. I checked it yesterday and it was up to 20.7 million. That’s a lot of blogs. Someone said there’s a new blog every second. Personally, I think that’s probably conservative. “Who has time to read blogs?” Well, if you’re like me, I need to read God’s word more than someone else’s. So get ready. The One who wrote the first text message is about to text you.
“And Jesus said unto them… “If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible to you.” – Matthew 17:20
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” – Isaiah 41:10
“When times are good, be happy; but when times are bad, consider; God has made the one as well as the other.” – Ecclesiastes 7:14
“I can do everything through him who gives me strength.” – Philippians 4:13
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we all live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.” – Galatians 5:22-26
“For I know the plans I have for you”, declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” – John 14:1-3
“May the God of hope fill you all with joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” – Romans 15:13
“The Lord is my light and my salvation – whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life – of whom shall I be afraid?” – Psalm 27:1
“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” – Psalm 73:26
“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” – Psalm 23:4
“So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.” – Corinthians 4:16-18
When you doubt yourself or find that things aren’t easy as they ought to be, remember that God is at work. I hope these verses get you through the day, and sharing them with those you know and love will give you immense joy.
There’s No Place Like Hope,
Stefan
