Our Mission
The purpose of When Grace Happens is to extend hope and practical help to the homeless, the broken, the under-resourced and the lost, in practical ways.
Our Story
When Grace Happens began years ago simply looking for opportunities to compassionately seek out ones who may feel like the worst sinner. WGH started to take shape as an outreach to connect people, and build bridges.
Often times what starts out as simply being present and listening, in soup kitchens, homeless shelters, and even sleeping on church steps, we begin to see opportunity arise to address physical and spiritual needs.
WGH seeks to identify specific needs of specific people or groups, often homeless or under-resourced and connect them to a relationship with God and relationships with caring and resourced people.
We offer assistance through bus passes for individuals starting jobs, food and groceries, heaters, tents and tarps, blankets, clothes, shoes, assistance with resumes and interviews and even rides to church.
We form relationships, make friendships, and help in any way possible, with short and long term Christ focused care. In the words of Max Lucado, " Does he stand high on a hill and bid you climb out of the valley? No. He bungees down and carries you out. “You did not save yourselves; it was a gift from God” (Eph. 2:8 ncv).
